Hi, my name is Macie, and I am a Veterinary Technician at Magnolia Animal Clinic.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy reading, karaoke, and spending free time with friends and family. I have two dogs: Diesel, a Coton de Tulear I have had since I was 15, and Mater, a two-year-old deaf Dachshund.
Favorite Part of My Job
I enjoy the fast-paced environment and working closely with the veterinary team to help patients get the best possible outcome. I find it very rewarding to educate clients and help them feel more confident in caring for their pets. Seeing patients recover and improve makes the work especially meaningful. My favourite areas are surgery and dentistry.
Why I Chose This Profession
I chose veterinary medicine because I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I knew I wanted a career that allowed me to help and care for animals while making a difference in their lives and the lives of their owners.
Education
I studied Animal Science at Blinn College from 2015 to 2017 before going on to earn my Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Houston Vet Tech Institute in 2019.
Work History
My career began with volunteering at a veterinary clinic while attending college, which led to a position as a kennel technician. I then worked as a Veterinary Technician at PVH Veterinary Hospital, a large and small animal 24-hour hospital, from 2017 to 2021. I joined Magnolia Animal Clinic in 2021 and continue to work here today.
