Hi, my name is Dr. Helton, and I am a Veterinarian and Owner at Magnolia Animal Clinic. I am passionate about preventative care, dentistry, and soft tissue surgical procedures, and my favorite part of my career is building lasting relationships with clients and helping their pets through all life stages.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
I have two young daughters who are my pride and joy. I also have two Quarter horses and a rescue dog, Mr. Wilbur Dinkles. In addition to enjoying family time, I love being outdoors, working out, and corny jokes. My husband is a retired Army Veteran and I am devoted to honoring our nation's servicemembers and veterans. I am also a proud tribal member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.
Education
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science (biotechnology) from Oklahoma State University — GO POKES! — before going on to complete my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Health Sciences.
Memberships
I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), and the Independent Veterinary Practitioners Association (IVPA).
Work History
After graduating, my husband Tim and I relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana, until his job transferred us to the Magnolia area, where I have been serving this community since 2014.
